#3 Travis Thomason 5.19 @ 136
#4 Mike Genovese 5.22 @ 141
#5 John Heard 5.39 @ 136
#6 Dewayne Mills 5.41 @ 137
#7 Kevin Bales 5.50 @ 125
#8 Justin Carey 5.51 @ 130
#9 Jay Clark 5.63 @ 124
#10 Tony Philips 5.74 @ 121
#11 John Cook 5.800 @ 122
#12 Josh gill 5.808 @ 118
#13 Trevor Berkheiser 5.85 @ 116
#14 Curtis Jacobs 6.06 @ 112
#15 Robert Bales 6.07 @ 112

Doctor Mustang brought out the 2004 Mustang sporting the Turbo set up and Tuner Josh Lindsey driving. An easy check out pass showed some meal in the oil and that ended their day early. Mike White just got the new engine combo ready to run MAKO and his transmission was not up to the task, but we had a total of 18 cars so with two out we had a full 16 car field.
Well it started of really well #8 Justin Carey vs #9 Jay Clark.. Justin recently purchased the Orange Pumpkin Nova and first race out qualifies in the top half of the field, Jay looked to need help at the tree and he got it, taking .050 advantage and then promptly out ran Justin also, 5.571 to Justin's 5.584
#7 Kevin Bales vs #10 Tony Phillips.. This was second time out for the Silver 83 Camaro and he is sneaking up on figuring out the #4 line Nitrous racing, They were even at the tree .072 for tony .079 for Kevin but it did not last long.. problems had Tony having to lift sending Kevin to win 5.508 to Tony's 13.340.
Third Pair, John Cook qualified #11 for the right to run Dewayne Mills, Dewayne was having Nitrous controller problems so this might have been an easy one for John to steal, John was there on the tree .020 but Dewayne got a good run hitting it all right off the line. Dewayne took the win 5.337 to Johns 5.76.
This is where things started going weird for the night. #5 John Heard vs #12 Josh Gill, John has been running really good MPH out of his new combination and has been working to get the ET to Match.. Josh has definitely stepped his car over the last race we saw him out. John got away first and looked to be running away with the race until his hood took flight ending up in the lane right in front of Josh.. Josh tried to dodge the hood.. John runs a 5.290 on a DQ pass and Josh gets the win with a 7.848.
And it continues... #4 Mike G has won just about everything he been at this year.. #13 Trevor Berkheiser is running his first MAKO race, this one looked to be over before they even staged... but that is why they run the race... Trevor leaves first and braces for the Mike G power.. but it never comes... Mike's car surges down the track and Trevor takes the win 5.990 to 5.944
And it still wont go back to normal.. #3 Travis Thomason vs the S-10 pick up of #14 Curtis Jacobs.. Curtis backfires while trying to stage and catches fire... the mad rush to put things out ensues.. Travis had already been prestaged, Curtis could not get things together in time and Travis is sent on single. 5.217
#2 Clint Downs vs. #15 Robert Bales.. Robert was looking to be the 316 car but snuck up one spot. he was watching to see if we had a full field and the two cars that broke gave him the courage to step on up. A red light ended things really quick for Robert and his 98 Firebird he watched Clint run down the track in 5.194 seconds
#1 Kit Long and his 4 second ride vs #16 Adam Wright. Adam made it back out to race with us only to have to match his 79 Camaro against the quickest car in MAKO. Well Kit tried to help Adam out with a .490 light, but Adam could not stay out in front Kit's winning 5.121 to a 6.346.
Well we go to weird.. We had three cars break the top qualifiers and two of them would be meeting in the second which would usually mean that a back half qualified car would be seeing the Semi's. Josh Gill got a Big Jump on Trevor Berkhieser and carried it to the strip when his car made a hard left right in front of Trevor. Trevor did a great job of trying to avoid the collision, but they did get together Josh hit the wall hard and really messed up his Mustang. Trevor pushed the nose over pretty good on his Mustang. These guys are the best of friends and Josh has even used Trevors car to make a race when his wasn't running. Josh got the win 5.840 to 5.930 but neither car would be able to return for the next round.
Dewayne Mills vs Travis Thomason.. Big Block Chevies in Mustangs for both of them.. Thank goodness Quazzies is silver.. Dewayne did about a 500 ft burnout... backed up Staged then Redlighted!!! Quazzie goes .015 on the tree and 5.312 for the win.
Clint Downs and Kevin Bales - these guys always travel together and it seems like they always end up having to race each other.. well at least one of them stays in to keep racing..Kevin's 2001 Mustang took the very slight lead .059 to Clints .061 but it would have taken more than that to be able to out run Clints Bracket like 5.189 to Kevins 5.641.
Kit Long and Jay Clark, Jay was thinking if you put up another reaction like last round I will get you.. Well Jay chopped the tree down in his 86 Mustang .017 but Kit was not far behind .078.. Jay runs a 5.571 but is no match for Kits winning 5.024
Kit Long got the Bye with Josh Gill not being able to return and eases his car down the track to 5.321
Clint Downs and Travis Thomason, now Clint has gone 5.18, 5.18, 5.19, 5.18.. so you would expect another 18 or 19. Clint has lane choice.. But Quazzie has been one of the most consistent Drivers on the tree this year. But Clint got out first with .030 advantage and it looked to be over..Clint had to lift and Quazzie runs of to a winning 5.173 to Clints 6.884
Quazzie has lane choice, Kit has the Baddest car in MAKO history.
Travis leaves first .048 to Kits .070 but the F-2R just proves to be to much. Kit takes the win 5.038 to Travis Personal Best 5.163
Congrats Kit, since taking over his own driving he proven more than capable of putting his own ride in the winner circle...
